Punch pizza began in 2005 when founder David Rocco returned from a culinary pilgrimage through Naples, Italy, obsessed with one simple truth: great pizza needs great ingredients, nothing more.
Armed with a family-recipe dough, a handbuilt wood-fired oven imported from Naples, and an unwavering commitment to fresh, local produce, David opened our first location on East Hennepin Avenue in Minneapolis. The line was out the door on day one — and hasn't stopped since.
Today, Punch pizza remains a family-owned, community-rooted restaurant. We still source our San Marzano tomatoes from Italy, hand-pull our mozzarella fresh each morning, and fire every pizza in under 90 seconds at 900°F. Some things never change — and they shouldn't.
